Holistic Treatments

ACUPUNCTURE

A system of integrative medicine that involves pricking the skin or tissues with needles, used to alleviate pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Originating in ancient China, acupuncture is now widely practiced around the world.

What I love about an integrated approach to oriental medicine is that it seeks to understand and treat the underlying condition of the body with a goal of transforming the patient to a higher level of long term health, stability and wellness. It focuses on healing the body in a sustainable way.  Acupuncture is a holistic approach to healing that involves treating the whole person by finding the root cause of a condition in a gentle and compassionate way.

HERBS, SUPPLEMENTS
AND NUTRITION

Chinese herbs and herbal formulas can help effectively treat a patient’s health care goals. Each formula is comprised of herbs that work with your body to naturally alleviate pain, overcome effects of stress and  digestive issues-- even cold and flu symptoms Just as acupuncture works to balance the body’s energy or Qi.

CUPPING THERAPY

In Chinese medicine, Qi is the body’s innate energy that moves in a particular direction. Cupping is a technique where glass, plastic or sometimes bamboo cups are strategically placed on the body to move Qi and blood circulation to release tense muscles and bring the body into greater balance. The sensation and effects are similar to getting a deep tissue massage.

When a muscle or group of muscles are tense, the general ache you feel is due to diminished blood flow. Gua sha or “scraping” is a method that relieves pain by increasing microcirculation in soft tissue. Quick strokes with a smooth gua sha tool warms up the area, relaxing the muscles and causing the skin to turn red.

Reviews

I have been seeing Angela for the past 6 weeks following a head on motor vehicle accident. I did not want to be on pain pills so I opted for acupuncture and I couldn’t be more pleased with my results. Angela listens to all my complaints and treats my pain with a compassionate, healing touch. I highly recommend!

I began seeing Angela for chronic neck pain. After learning all that acupuncture and Chinese medicine could do, I started seeing her for my PMS symptoms. She’s amazing!

I thought I would never get off my anxiety medication until I started seeing Angela last year. Now I come in for a monthly tune-up and take my prescribed herbal supplements. I feel great naturally.

My wife started seeing Angela last year for fertility. We now have a healthy 2 month old which lead to my low back issues :) Acupuncture and cupping have helped immensely.
